Australia

As a nation, Australia has a significant contribution to make to the Christian movement throughout the globe and particularly in South Asia. In their own nation, Aussies who are followers of Jesus are keenly aware of the dynamics of living in a post-Christian, increasingly secularized society. New kinds of churches are needed for a generation that is thoroughly globalized in cultural understanding and postmodern in worldview.

CRM missionaries have been present in Australia since 1986, and today CRM-Australia is sending Aussies to serve in places such as China, Thailand, Great Britain and South America.

CRM’s ministry within Australia is diverse and includes coaching and mentoring pastors and leaders in existing churches, as well as walking alongside those who are planting new churches of many types, sizes and in various denominations. CRM-Australia’s Matrix training for church planters has been especially well received throughout Australia and Europe.

The director of CRM-Australia, Steve Addison, has been focused on movements and movement dynamics, particularly relating to church planting. He makes a wealth of on-line resources available at www.steveaddison.net.

CRM-Australia was the first location other than North America to have nationals serving with CRM, nationals leading the ministry in their own nation, and nationals sent as CRM missionaries to other nations.

Indonesia

The Republic of Indonesia is the world’s largest Muslim nation. With a population of 238 million people, Indonesia is the world’s fourth largest country. Indonesia is also the world’s largest archipelago with more than 17,500 islands, 6000 of which are inhabited. The Indonesian people are racially of Malay and South Pacific origin. They make up 300 ethnic groups and nearly 250 spoken languages.

There are 128 major unreached people groups (UPGs)—distinct people groups with populations of more than 10,000 people, yet with less than 1% professing believers in Christ.

CRM staff work directly with Indonesian-led mission agencies and focus on planting contextually relevant churches (usually house churches) in UPGs in both urban and rural areas. CRM staff coach Indonesian mission leaders and partner with them to develop ministry systems that increase the effectiveness of their work. Financial resources for CRM’s ministry in Indonesia are being creatively developed through domestic business opportunities.
